General English Join a full-time (25 hours a week) or part time course (9/15 hours a week) at your level and study for 1 week or as many weeks as you like.
The first available General English courses are:
- Beginner to Pre Intermediate
- Lower Intermediate to Intermediate
- Upper Intermediate to Advanced
* Basic awareness of English (ability to read and write the English alphabet and simple words, and the ability to use and understand simple greetings) is a prerequisite for the Beginner to Pre-Intermediate Course |

Contact Hours
- Full-time General English courses run from 9am to 3:05pm Monday-Friday (25 hours per week) and part-time General English courses run from 9am to 12:30pm or 1:15pm to 3:05pm Monday-Friday (9/15 hours per week) every week of the year excluding a 2 week vacation over Christmas and New Year. For a minimum of 3 students, Perth college can also run night classes from 7pm to 9pm Monday-Wednesday (6 hours per week).
- Full-time students have 5 and part-time students have 3 contact study hours a day and will be given a limited amount of homework.
- Orientations for new students are conducted on Mondays and graduations for departing students are conducted on Fridays.
- Friday afternoon classes take the form of a social event or excursion which may on occasion incur an additional fee of less than $15 per person per event.
